10 FUN water games for this August
Water games are a must in the summer. And since a few days ago, on our Facebook page , we shared a themed video that you loved so much, we decided to offer you a collection of simple and fun games to play with your children.
Whether you are at the seaside or in the mountains, it makes no difference: the only really indispensable requirement is a dry change for when you are done!
WATERFALL
Needed: water, balloons, thread or string.
Duration: 3 rounds of 3 minutes
Rules: in the garden, on a terrace or in the park, hang some rubber balloons filled with water on a string (such as those for laundry) or a branch depending on the space available. Divide the participants into two teams and, after kicking off, invite everyone to blow up the balloons with their hands or head in the allotted time.
The team that breaks the most balloons wins.
BRACKET WITH WATER
Needed: glass of water.
Duration: varies according to the ability of the participants.
Rules: draw two lines, one indicating the start, the other the finish line. Divide the children into equal teams by number of participants and invite them to line up behind the starting line. Only one member of the team must be on the finish line. As in the classic relay race, at the start the first opponents on the starting line, with the glass of water in their hands, must reach their respective teammate on the finish line, passing him the glass full of water. The latter will restart, trying to run towards his team member on the starting line, and so on, until everyone has run once. At the end of the race, the team that has the most water in their glass by completing the lap first wins.
RACE WITH ICE MARBLES
Needed: round molds for ice, scotch tape, colored food powder.
Duration: varies according to the ability of the participants.
Rules: before starting the game, you need to create ice balls with the molds to put in the freezer. If you want, before putting the water in the molds, we can color it to give a more beautiful appearance to our ice cubes.
On the balcony of the house or in the courtyard, where the surface is smooth, we draw a path on the ground with scotch tape, indicating a starting point and an arrival point.
Each player will have to follow the track by pushing his special sphere with two fingers towards the finish line without going off the track: if he misses the turn he passes to the other. In the end, whoever finishes first with the least melted ice ball wins!
WET SHOOTING
Needed: balloons filled with water, basket for clothes .
Duration: varies according to the ability of the participants.
Rules: with the classic rubber balloons, a large basket for clothes and water, it is possible to organize a fun refreshing challenge for a small group of friends, outdoors or even on the balcony of the house. Give each child the same number of balloons filled with water of a single color (so it’s easy to count them) and invite everyone to line up in a row at a certain distance (for example 1 meter) from the basket. The aim of the game is to take turns throwing your own “water bombs” and letting them enter the basin without exploding: whoever manages to throw the largest number of them, wins.
AQUATIC POISON BALL
Needed: large balloons filled with water.
Duration: varies according to the ability of the participants.
Rules: the traditional team game of the “poison ball” lends itself to a fun anti-heat variant to involve a group of children in a nice challenge.
Instead of the classic ball, a balloon filled with water is used in these water games: each team must hit, by throwing the balloon, a member of the opposing team. If the thrower, in addition to hitting the opponent, manages to detonate the balloon in the opponent’s field, he receives a point of merit. At the end of the game, the group that has the most points wins (those obtained even with the explosion of the balloon in the rival field).

WATER ON BOAT
You will need : 3 buckets, 2 sponges
Duration: 1 to 3 laps
Rules: We organize two teams and line them up in single file behind a starting line in this water game . Halfway between the start and finish lines, and in the center of the two teams, we place a bucket full of water. The other two, empty, we put them on the finish line in correspondence of each team.
Let’s give each team leader a sponge. At the beginning of each round the player who leads the game proclaims a part of the body (forehead, knee, elbow, belly). At the start, the leader of each team dips his sponge in the bucket, and then runs to squeeze it into the respective empty bucket. He will have to do this by squeezing it against the part of the body indicated by the player who is playing the game. He then goes back and gives it to the next player, who starts a new round. If the teams are made up of many children, we each take a tour and at the end we check who has filled their bucket the most. If the players are few, we can also make the route go through three times in this water games.
THE PESCATINO
Needed : surprise egg shells, wire, large tub, water, toothpick for skewers and disused toys, which you want to exchange with other children.
Duration: 1 minute
Rules: first you need to take the wire and make it go around the egg shells, creating a sort of cage around them, with an eyelet at the top that makes it possible to hook them. Fill the tub with water and insert the shells, letting them float.
The aim of this best multiplayer game is to catch the eggs by pulling them up with the skewer. The more shells you can fish in the time available, the bigger and more beautiful the prizes will be.
This game, in addition to being a pleasant pastime, strengthens the sharing of one’s “goods” by making it clear how one’s water games can be shared to entertain other children. And it’s a nice way to exchange intact but little used toys.
THE WATERFALL
You will need : glasses, half-liter plastic bottle and a chair.
Duration: depends on the time the bottle is used up.
Rules: The players take turns receiving a half-liter bottle full of water, stand up on a chair and pour the water into a glass, placed on the ground in front of them. To do this, they must stand straight, without bending either the legs or the back, and they must hold the hand with the bottle at shoulder height. The winner is the one who can fill his glass the most. If two or more players manage to fill it completely, the one who has even more water in their bottle wins.
HERCULES AND MACISTE
Needed : large balloons filled with water.
Duration: varies according to the ability of the participants.
Rules : This is an endurance game among water games! The players spread out across the playing field with arms outstretched, holding them stretched at shoulder height, palms facing up. The handler places a balloon filled with water on each hand. When the balloon falls, because the player no longer has the strength to keep his arm at the right height, the player rests his free hand on his head. When the second balloon also falls, the player is eliminated. The last player left in the race wins.
THE WATER Catcher
Needed : water pump connected to the tap, glasses, bottles and stereo.
Duration: the tempo of a song, but multiple rounds can be done. A song is a round.
Rules: game to play on a hot summer day, without fear of getting wet from head to toe. The conductor shakes a rubber tube connected to a tap here and there to the sound of music, continuously varying the length and direction of the water jet. Players must try to catch the water with a plastic cup, then pour it into a plastic bottle that they hold with the other hand. At the end of the song, the player who has the most water in his bottle wins .Hope you enjoyed article on water games
