Applying moisturizer when skin is damp can make a big difference in hydration and effectiveness of your moisturizer. This tip may sound counterintuitive, but it can help you get more benefits from your moisturizer and make your skin feel softer and smoother.

Many people apply moisturizer incorrectly and don’t actually realize it. When you apply moisturizer, rub it into your skin thoroughly until the lotion is absorbed by your skin. If your skin is damp, before rubbing in the moisturizer, some of the moisture from your skin will mix with the moisturizer, creating a smoother texture.
