Hey, what’s up friends! Welcome to my channel. I do product reviews of the latest gadgets that I buy and use for a while then I’ll give you my honest opinions to hopefully help you make a better purchase decision.

In this article, I’m going to give you 3 things that you definitely want to know the brand reliability and key features, pros and cons from my personal experience using it, and of course, call quality microphone tests. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Today we’re looking at the Mpow X6. MPOW has been around since 2013. They are known for delivering ergonomic and quality sound products at affordable prices. I’ve used a couple of their products before but I haven’t been disappointed. The X6 is no exception.

I got it on Shopee for about $50 on sale and they are also available on Lazada and AliExpress. The Mpow X6 charging case has a similar finish to the earbuds themselves with matching metallic blue or purple. It’s oval in shape with a vertical design that looks almost like a pillbox.

The top clamshell-style lid is spring-loaded and snaps open easily when pushed upwards. Otherwise, it will stay shut both inside your pocket and in a purse or a backpack. On the front of the case, you’ll see a pair of white led lights. Both lights will be solid when the battery is full, one solid light when it is average, and a blinking light when it is low in battery.

On the back of the case is the charging port. A USB Type-C cable is included so you’re ready to start charging immediately. Now to the earbuds themselves. They are IPX6 waterproof which makes them perfect for both indoor and outdoor activities. The surface of the X6 earbuds functions as soft-touch controls. With a touch of either earbud, you can adjust the volume.

The X6 is Hybrid ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). If you press and hold for 2 seconds, you can switch from ANC OFF to ANC ON. Press and hold again and you’ll be switched to Transparency (Passthrough) mode.   Double-tap to switch tracks and answer calls. You can also summon your phone’s voice assistant. Each earbud has an infrared proximity sensor so they know when they are inserted into your ears.

When an earbud is removed from your ear, your music will pause by itself. When it’s reinserted your music will pick up where it left off. This makes it a lot easier to talk to others on short notice. The call quality of the X6 isn’t really the best, but don’t get me wrong. You can definitely still take calls on the go. But for longer Zoom (or Teams) meetings or discussions, it may not be the best suitable out there. Anyway here are some mic test samples for you so you can make your own judgment. Having used the Mpow X6 for over 2 months I have found some pros and cons.

I like the fact that it’s very compact, fits nicely into my pocket, and survived heavy rain without any issues. I found switching to ANC and Passthrough modes to be very smooth, letting me jump in and out of conversations without having to remove my earbuds. Moving on to the cons the ANC isn’t nearly as good as the likes of BOSE and SONY.

The Final Verdict:-

I could still hear some surrounding noise such as people talking and babies crying. The only other con is the microphone quality. It would have been perfect if the mic quality was good enough to use for longer calls and Zoom meetings. All in all, at this budget price point I can safely say that it’s definitely worth the money spent. MPOW has yet again delivered something that is not only affordable but very functional.
