Kudremukh trek

Kudremuh is considered an iconic trek in India and the third-highest in the state of Karnataka after Mullayyangiri and Baba Budangiri. the name was born out of the picturesque view of a side of the mountain. It resembles the face of a horse and is thus named “Kudremukh” which literally means “Horse face”. towering 1,894 meters above sea level, the Kudremukh trek is a perfect collection of landscapes and enchanting views, torrent streams, shrubs of bamboo, breath-taking waterfalls, and lush vegetation. Historically it’s named “Samseparvath” since it has access from Samse village. The trek comes under the second-largest wildlife, Kudremukh National Park which protects the majority of western ghats. Apart from grasslands, woods, and several small streams, green hills, and misty valleys, it is home to varieties of flora and fauna.

Though it is regarded as slightly challenging, the rewards from it are bound to be cherished throughout your lifetime!

Else I wonder how the mountain could get the shape of a horse’s face?! the structure is definitely the mannequin of the horse’s face from its side.

Into the woods…

No place on earth can compete with the majestic western ghats. The ghats are jam-packed with the grassland and shrublands referred to as Shola. Consider yourself lucky because you would traverse through this paradise to reach the Kudremukh peak. Deer, lion-tailed macaque, Malabar giant squirrel, leopard, common langur, etc own the ghats. At monsoon, leeches would accompany you throughout the trek!

The rolling green hills

Out from the Shola, you are entering another part of heaven, the mesmerizing and never-ending rolling hills. The spectacular sights of the hills and misty valleys will completely win you over. Though during monsoon, sheets of mist spread over the hills, the valley would steal moments to show it off to its viewers. That’s definitely another splendid view to not miss.
